Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully. By using Thia you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. About Thia
Thia is an AI assistant platform designed for teenagers, with an integrated parent safety monitoring and notification layer. Thia is operated by Honalee Productions LLC, an Illinois limited liability company ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").
2. Not a Medical or Mental Health Service
Thia is not a medical device, mental health treatment, clinical intervention, or crisis service. Thia does not provide therapy, counseling, diagnosis, or medical advice of any kind. Thia is a detection and notification tool — it is designed to help ensure that a parent or guardian is aware when a teenager may need support. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care.

3. Eligibility and Parental Consent
Thia is intended for use by teenagers under adult supervision. A parent or guardian must create and manage the family account. Use of Thia by anyone under 13 requires verifiable parental consent. By creating an account, the adult account holder represents that they have the authority to consent on behalf of any minor in their household who will use the service.
4. SMS Notifications
By providing a phone number during enrollment, you consent to receive SMS safety notifications from Thia. These messages are sent when the platform detects a potential safety concern. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by contacting us at seisenhammer@hlerk.com.
5. No Guarantee of Safety
Thia's safety monitoring layer is designed to detect signals of distress and notify designated contacts. However, Thia does not guarantee that all expressions of distress will be detected, that notifications will always be delivered, or that intervention will prevent harm. No technology can guarantee the safety of any individual. Thia is one layer of a larger support system — not a complete solution.
6. User Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You agree not to use Thia for any unlawful purpose or in any manner that could harm minors.
- You agree not to attempt to circumvent, manipulate, or interfere with Thia's safety systems.
- You agree to provide accurate information during account registration.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, software, and technology comprising the Thia platform are the property of Honalee Productions LLC or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Thia platform without our express written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Honalee Productions LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of Thia. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Thia is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
